Meeting

Put on your holiday spirit and join your NWAGMS rockhound family for an evening of good food, laughter, and Christmas fun! Bring a favorite dish to share for our traditional potluck. We'll also have an optional gift exchange for those who want to join in (rock related of course!)

Come hungry, bring your holiday cheer, and help us celebrate another great year together!

Mark your calendar! We'll meet on the 3rd Tuesday this month instead of our usual 4th Tuesday.

How the Appalachian Mountains Were Formed

Did you know that 500 million years ago, much of what is now the eastern United States was covered by ocean? The Appalachian Mountains didn't exist yet!  A process, known as the Appalachian Orogeny, helped shape the landscape we know today.

Join us November 17 as Ronald R. Foshee, Certified Petroleum Geologist, takes us back in time to explore how continents collided, mountains rose, and Earth's landscape was transformed. A fascinating look at the story hidden in the rocks beneath our feet!

And there's more!

• 2027 Officer Vote - Nominees for the coming year will be voted on.
• Snacks & Fellowship- Enjoy time talking to other rockhounds over a snack.
• Silent Auction - Don't forget to look at the items up for auction.
• Door Prize - You might be the lucky one to take home a real prize for free!

NOTE:  Meeting has been changed from 4^th Tuesday due to Thanksgiving. This meeting is the 3^rd Tuesday - November 17

MEMBERS!

Your Club, Your Voice — Your Helping Hands!

At our November meeting, we'll elect the officers who will guide NWAGMS in 2027. Make your voice heard! Your vote helps shape the future of our club.

We also need members willing to help with field trips, workshops, educational programs, meetings, and our annual Spring Show. Whether you can give an hour, help with one event, serve on a committee, or chair a committee, there's a place for you! No year-long commitment is required, and you can jump in anytime.

Come to the November meeting, meet the nominees, cast your vote, and find out how you can help make 2027 a great year for NWAGMS!

Every vote matters. Every helping hand counts. There's always room for one more rockhound!
