Intergenerational Connection and Learning

We are an educational, friendly club of all ages and experience who enjoy a shared interest in earth science, gems, minerals, fossils, lapidary work, making jewelry, and more.

Our club is located in Siloam Springs, Arkansas where our members attend monthly meetings with speakers on various topics of interest regarding gems, minerals, earth science, fossils, lapidary work, jewelry creation and more. Members also have use of a wonderful fully-equipped workshop and have the opportunity to participate in field trips.

Monthly Meetings in Our Own Clubhouse!

Our monthly meetings are open to the public. We meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in our clubhouse at 15048 Highway 43, Corner of Highway 43 and Lawlis Road, Siloam Springs, AR

How the Appalachian Mountains Were Formed

Did you know that 500 million years ago, much of what is now the eastern United States was covered by ocean? The Appalachian Mountains didn't exist yet!  A process, known as the Appalachian Orogeny, helped shape the landscape we know today.

Join us November 17 as Ronald R. Foshee, Certified Petroleum Geologist, takes us back in time to explore how continents collided, mountains rose, and Earth's landscape was transformed. A fascinating look at the story hidden in the rocks beneath our feet!

And there's more!

  • 2027 Officer Vote - Nominees for the coming year will be voted on.
  • Snacks & Fellowship - Enjoy time talking to other rockhounds over a snack.
  • Silent Auction - Don't forget to look at the items up for auction.
  • Door Prize - You might be the lucky one to take home a real prize for free!

NOTE:  Meeting has been changed from 4th Tuesday due to Thanksgiving. This meeting is the 3rd Tuesday - November 17

MEMBERS!

Your Club, Your Voice — Your Helping Hands!

At our November meeting, we'll elect the officers who will guide NWAGMS in 2027. Make your voice heard! Your vote helps shape the future of our club.

We also need members willing to help with field trips, workshops, educational programs, meetings, and our annual Spring Show. Whether you can give an hour, help with one event, serve on a committee, or chair a committee, there's a place for you! No year-long commitment is required, and you can jump in anytime.

Come to the November meeting, meet the nominees, cast your vote, and find out how you can help make 2027 a great year for NWAGMS!

Every vote matters. Every helping hand counts. There's always room for one more rockhound!

2026 Christmas

Put on your holiday spirit and join your NWAGMS rockhound family for an evening of good food, laughter, and Christmas fun! Bring a favorite dish to share for our traditional potluck. We'll also have an optional gift exchange for those who want to join in (rock related of course!)

Come hungry, bring your holiday cheer, and help us celebrate another great year together!

Mark your calendar! We'll meet on the 3rd Tuesday this month instead of our usual 4th Tuesday.

Mark your calendar for April 18–19, 2027 and join us in Bentonville for the Northwest Arkansas Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show!

Come shop for beautiful gemstones and jewelry, discover amazing rocks and fossils, watch live lapidary demonstrations, try your hand at our Gem Sluice, and bring your mystery specimens to our Rock & Mineral Identification Table. There’s plenty to see and do for rockhounds of all ages!

Ready to plan your visit? Click below for complete show information, including vendors, activities, demonstrations, admission, food, military benefits, and more.
